Ensuring Quality of Service through Modeling of Resource Requirements and Service-level Agreements in Industrial IoT

Cloud computing and Internet of Things (IoT) are computing technologies that provide services to consumers and businesses, allowing organizations to become more agile and flexible in pursuing new revenue streams and new business models. Therefore the quality of service (QoS) is an important issue for both service providers and service consumers.

We address challenges that are concerned with resource management, fault tolerance and service-level agreements within the context of Industrial IoT applications. Recently, there has been a lot of work on IoT, cloud computing and their application in the industrial systems. However, not much attention has been paid on modeling of resource requirements and developing service-level agreements between the end device and cloud; among cloud services; and between the provider and user of the cloud services. We plan to consider the perspectives of both service provider and service user when developing service-level agreements and modeling resource requirements.
