Software development organizations transitioning from traditional approaches to an approach where functionality is continuously deployed may need alternative metrics to reflect on their organizational performance. This requires a critical review of the existing set of performance metrics, an analysis of how these metrics are used (if at all) and, subsequently, the development of an applicable, relevant and non-intrusive set of performance metrics for a lean, agile, global, continuously deploying organization. The first sprint focused on establishing current state and developing a few first “teaser metrics”, where the second sprint will focus on developing a prototype of comprehensive fully automated framework which we will propose to deploying at the partner companies.
